“And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)
Do you think of God as being a part of every detail of your life or do you keep God in a little box where you can access him in times of need? Do you stress about details and think they are too small for God to mess with, because he might be busy with bigger things? We like to keep God in a box – where we can understand him, and how or where he works. But God doesn’t stay in our box!
In the book of Esther, God is not once specifically mentioned by name. However in Esther and her uncle Mordecai’s lives, God is working to bring about his purpose. As members of the Jewish community, in exile and powerless against the Persian Empire, I am sure Esther or Mordecai wanted God to work in a specific way (and quickly) inside the box they defined for him. They feared for their lives and the lives of everyone who were like them, and yet God made Esther queen and Mordecai a leader. Maybe you’ve never faced a life threatening situation in the way Esther and Mordecai did, but God is still at work in the details of your life.
As you prepare for your next LWML event or inviting a new woman to join your group, remember God is in the details and he directs where you are going. Have confidence that God is there working in the details! He has a plan for each and every detail.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand (Proverbs 19:21).
I usually wake up in the morning with a list of things I want to accomplish, but sometimes I neglect to ask God what He wants me to do today. When things don’t go the way I planned I get a little frustrated, but I need to ask myself is that God telling me “You’re not doing what I want you to do today”? Instead of looking at changed plans as the devil working against you, think of it as God using you for HIS purpose. Your day may not end up going the way you envisioned it, but I bet it will turn out even better because it is how God planned it! Today look for ways to Engage, Encourage, Equip, and Enjoy your sisters in Christ and LWML.

The new LWML logo makes a statement that as servants of our Lord He has opened our hearts to see, to hear, and to share His love. Christ’s death on the cross opened the kingdom of heaven for all people. The heart of God has won for all who believe the forgiveness we need through the blood of Christ. In 1 John 4:7 “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”
By His guiding, the heart of the LWML continues to be open in love for all around us … in our church, in our neighborhoods, and throughout the world. Open our hearts, Lord, that we will joyfully serve You and others wherever You lead us.

In celebrating 75 years of LWML past, we now have a new look for our future! Our new logo reminds us of how the heart of God is behind all that we are and do. He showed us His love through Jesus’ death and resurrection. Now we lift high the cross of Christ as it guides our thanks, praise, and service.
As I was reading some of the Leader Helps ideas on the LWML website under the service tab, I wondered, How well do we know the children in our congregations? Have you ever planned events for the entire family so young women can bring their children? This could be a service project and a simple meal, tying blankets, or visiting a nursing home.
God bless you as you Lift High the Cross of Christ in your society! To Him be the glory!

The month of March is a time of zone rallies and workshops. These events create exciting opportunities to reach out to those who are not involved in the LWML.
One of those groups are teens. The LWML’s Text Messages from God are timely and short devotions, reaching teens where they are. Sharing them is a way to support moms and reach out to teens, because they sometimes need encouragement from someone other than mom. How about being a teen mentor? It is a joyful way to serve.

We pledge Him our willing service wherever and whenever He has need of us.
Psalm 90: 16-17 Let Your work be shown to Your servants, and Your glorious power to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us!
On a recent mission trip, I remembered, “Be willing wherever and whenever” and my experience at the Grand Canyon. My first view was its clouds — no beautiful canyon was seen. Then, slowly, a cloud would roll a bit to reveal a portion of the canyon — for a while — only to have another piece of God’s fluff roll in to cover it. That morning, the canyon was revealed in different areas — bit by bit — section by section — some parts for a short while and others for the entire morning. Eventually, the sun revealed the colorful canyon in all its glory.
Some work God gives us may only appear for a short time. Be ready! Some parts of it aren’t grand or showy or glorious by themselves. As it was on my mission trip, the work may be messy or physically taxing. Be willing — willing to do even the menial, for when the Son reveals the entire picture, what beauty will be shown!
Prayer: Lord God, I am Your servant. May I keep my pledge to You and go whenever and wherever — no matter how humble the task — no matter how taxing the job — no matter how large or small. May the words I recite be the prayer of my soul. I praise You for making our service a thing that reveals Your beauty and glory. Amen!

Serve the Lord with gladness! Psalm 100:2
When I want to serve a scrumptious dessert, I look through my recipe file and cookbooks to find just the right recipe. I follow the recipe which lists all the ingredients I need, as well as the directions. Once done, I’m ready to serve the dessert.
Similarly, when asked to serve the Lord in the LWML, there’s also a recipe for that. First, go to the Lord in prayer to seek His direction. Receive guidance as you spend time in God’s Word. Then for a variety of resources (“recipes”) for serving the Lord with gladness, go to the LWML website, lwml.org. They will help prepare you to serve! The time is NOW!
