Newsletter, Photos, & Highlights
- The Royal Rosarians, the official ambassadors of Portland, presented LWML President Jan Wendorf with a certificate that stated, “For you a rose in Portland grows.”
- Bible study leader Dr. Mary Hilgendorf, Professor of Education at Concordia University Wisconsin, encouraged participants to take a woman to coffee to connect. She added, “It only takes a minute and Jesus becomes a center of the conversation.”
- LWML women got to “stretch and sing” with convention song leader Dina Vendetti and meet Ruby Begonia, played by humorous interrupter Jan Struck.
- The LWML Web Site Task Force is now the Information Technology Committee.
- President Jan ate lunch with convention “first timers,” while past presidents Betty Duda, Ida Mall, Gloria Edwards, and Linda Reiser joined the YWRs and alumni for lunch.
- LWML adopted $1,825,000 mite goal and voted to fully fund 18 mission projects and partially fund one.
- Ruth Koch, keynote speaker, took us hiking the hills of change, reminding all that “Jesus knows the way up Mount Change.”
- Salt Lake City, Utah was chosen as the 2017 LWML convention site.
- President Jan spoke at dinner to the YWRs. She told the young women, “You are the LWML of tomorrow.”
- Heidi Floyd shared her story of faith and passion for breast cancer research with musical interludes by Lauren Randall.
