About This Mission Grant
Hispanics have become the second largest ethnic population in the United States and Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) realizes that there are many opportunities to reach out with the Gospel using Christian resources that are available through media and outreach technology.Â
LHM is not simply translating English materials into Spanish, they are crafting programming, media content, and written materials for Hispanics by Hispanics. These are applicable to daily life in the American culture and help to spread the Gospel. Working with LCMS ministry leaders, churches, districts, universities, and seminaries, LHM has been able to reach out to more of the Hispanic population.Â
This grant will share God’s message of salvation with the Hispanic people through technology in their own language, which will help strengthen their faith and encourage them to seek to learn more about Jesus.

The Sentido Latino weekly podcast is hosted by Rev. Luciano Vega-Ayala and Deaconess Noemi Guerra. The program addresses issues and values that directly impact U.S. Hispanics' family, spiritual, and community life.

Lutheran Hour Ministries' new smartphone app in Spanish provides easy, on-the-go access to connect Hispanics to Jesus and equip them to share the Good News of the Gospel with others. Bible-based teaching, sermons, videos, devotions, and more benefit Christians and non-Christians alike, encouraging them to grow in their knowledge of God and to follow in His footsteps.
Lutheran Hour Ministries' Christ-centered Outreach Prayer cards in Spanish are designed to help share your faith and the Gospel. Also included are "I am praying for you" cards to give to others.
Deaconess Noemi Guerra, program developer for Hispanic ministry at Lutheran Hour Ministries, was MC and presenter to youth at the LCMS Youth Gathering.
Lutheran Hour Ministries' weekly podcast, Sentido Latino, focuses on issues both immediate and relevant to Hispanics integrating into the cultural fabric of the U.S. Hosts comment on the practical and real-life issues that are facing immigrant Latinos, with messages grounded in Scripture and pointing toward God's work of love and redemption in Christ.
Lutheran Hour Ministries shares the love of Christ through children's Project Connect booklets in Spanish that answer questions about Jesus and sharing our faith.
