In the children's book Flat Stanley, Stanley Lambchop is accidentally flattened during his sleep one night. Flat Stanley has a special advantage now because he can visit his friends by being mailed in an envelope. In 1995, the Flat Stanley Project was established to provide school children a project similar to pen pals. Many of your children or grandchildren have enjoyed mailing a Flat Stanley to friends and family around the world and receiving photos of where he's been. In the spirit of Flat Stanley, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League introduced our much loved former President, Janice Wendorf, in the form of "Flat Jan." In the weeks before the LWML Convention in Peoria, "Flat Jan" visited LWML friends around the country.
So, where in the world is Flat Jan? The map below will show where she's been - but there's more! Click on the region names (East, West, North, South) below the map to see who she's made appearances with! Flat Jan has completed her nation-wide travels and greeted convention-goers in Peoria.
